Myung Jung is a brilliant individual who facilitated incredible discussions. She made sure we stayed in track and prompted individuals to think and reevaluate their opinions. Discussion sections had very clear objectives and used clean presentation slides. They were lively and never dull. Myung Jung made a lot of the more difficult concepts in class easy to understand and provided very valuable feedback to succeed in the assignments!"
Instructor was always enthusiastic and brought a positive energy to the discussion sections.
Not only was she very nice, but very helpful and straightforward. She was also very flexible and excellent at explaining through things.
She tries her best to facilitate meaningful discussions between classmates so we can learn the materials better and have a good idea of what it is talking about.
The major strengths of the instructor is that every concept taught in class was explained clearly to us, and the concepts were clarified to us when we had questions about the concept. I also really enjoyed how the instructor kept us engaged with the little quick games in the beginning of class. I also felt that talking with other students and getting their perspectives in this class helped to reinforce what was taught in lecture and this class.
The instructor was good at promoting participation and discussion. They would always ask questions and make points to create more discussion.
She was very knowledgeable on the course material and it helped because when students had complex questions she would be able to answer them in the appropriate way.
The instructor was very eager to help us understand the content discussed in lectures. Her willingness to listen and explain further helped me stay engaged and retain the information. The section discussions helped elaborate on readings and theories that were hard to understand.
A major strength of this discussion was how open it was while not being confrontational. This allowed me to speak easier even though I hate talking in my classes.
She is very kind and good at engaging with students. She is always willing to help and is good at working with our crazy hypotheticals in class. She allows us to express our differing opinions.
She is very understanding and helpful, she provided me with so much feedback on my work. Along with providing me resources that would help me for the success of the class.
No complaints with instructors job teaching the class. She did a good job and discussion sections went smoothly. The material covered in section was topical and related to the matters discussed in discussion.
I really enjoyed the overview that was discussed in section to help me better understand what was taught in lecture. We had good discussions and Myung Jung encouraged us to participate and make the classroom a welcoming environment.
The size of the discussion was smaller which meant a lot more one on one with the TA. Participation in class was very encouraged.
She was always able and willing to listen to those who wanted a more in depth look at what we were discussing
Myung Jung was extremely smart and helpful. She was also very detailed in her notes of our grades and it really helped improve my work.
The extra credit opportunities were fun and engaging it made class fun. Our class discussions were also always engaging and genuinely interesting to speak about.
she explained things well and engaged the class
I think the TA did a great job at engaging the class in meaningful discussions. I think something that helped me consider/develop my beliefs a lot were discussion sections when we would discuss different scenarios and evaluate our beliefs based on those scenarios.
I thought Myung Jung had an amazing personality which made the course really fun. She was really good at engaging the section with fun and interesting ways to think about the topics discussed.
Interesting material. Very nice
Her personality and humor. I was never nervous to ask questions or go to office hours
Great student-teacher interaction, very engaging
I always got good feedback and felt listened to by the instructor. She helped me better understand my positions on class subjects.
The major strengths of the instructor was her knowledge on her topic and her ability to convey those points to the class. She facilitated interesting discussion and focused on us learning from it and being able to discuss it. Her knowledge and how she treated us with. respect but also like adults made discussion very enjoyable. I really appreciate all the work she has done and really enjoyed having her as my instructor. I hope I get the privilege of having her as a TA for another course.
Myung Jung is an instructor who is great at taking into consideration many perspectives. She was very helpful whenever I had questions and always made class something I looked forward to.
The instructor was well prepared for the discussion section of this course and presented the course material well. She was understanding of unique circumstances and sought to help students through any inconveniences or difficult times. She also made the discussion section fun and interactive by getting creative with activities.
I thought our instructor was always well informed on the matter of discussion in class. I thought that there was ample deliberation time, both in small groups and class as a whole.
she was always prepared for class and was able to keep it engaging the whole time. I thought she reflected was professor miller would say in the lecture and do a nice job of helping of us tie it together.
The ability to have smaller discussions was very helpful in solidifying my understanding of the material. I appreciated that Myung Jung tended to take the devil's advocate on many discussions to help us harden our stances and arguments. In general, I thought the discussions sections were well done and served a good purpose.
The major strengths of this course and the TA was her availability to meet outside of class or after class to discuss and talk about what we were learning or if we were confused.
The instructor was always well prepared and encouraged class discussion. The instructor tried to be creative in ways to start class in order to boost morale. The exercises where extremely helpful to understanding the course content.
I liked how she graded
She did a great job explaining what was confusing in the readings and in lecture. As well as made discussion fun!
Lead an interactive discussion well
She gave many opportunities for extra credit. Also was very helpful and accomadating to those who could not come to class.
Myung Jung Kim has been a good TA because she came prepared to class every day, and made the lecture material prepared by Prof. Miller much easier to understand.
I enjoyed the energy that was brought to every discussion section. I could tell Myung Jung was excited to be hearing our opinions and insight on the theories and hypothetical scenarios. Additionally, she succeeded in making the sections fun by adding in games for extra credit that engaged the class. I was excited to go to the section every week.
Knowledgeable on course material, led class well. Issues mainly with course overall/professor.
She connected with the students and tried to make class as engaging as possible for everybody. We played games and did other activities that helped students be more willing to talk in the class.
She was very good at taking what was in lecture and putting it in terms that would be understandable to people who had no idea what was going on in class
The major strengths of the instructor and the course is the professor first off was very understanding and accommodating if you were sick for example. Additionally lectures was very useful as the professor always encouraged questions if we did not understand. Followed by discussion sections that often addressed these questions and more. I also thought that the readings were very interesting and lecture helped me understand how to read philosophy more efficiently. All in all the instructor and course had many different strengths.
The major strength of the instructor was creating a fun environment for the students. Through keeping the discussion sections by playing games for extra credit, she created a good environment for students to understand new topics.
good discussions, building on class material
The major strength of the instructor was the ability to get the class engaged. The major strength of the course was having opinions and vales become elicit.
The major strengths of the instructor is that she is very nice and was able to accommodate to the needs of students in the class. For me personally, I had a family emergency this semester that resulted in the passing of my mother, and she was very accommodating to myself and my situation and she even gave me a hug after lecture one day when she saw me walking outside of class. Myung Jung is a personable teacher, but while she is a good teacher, she feels like you are learning from another human, someone you can relate to and feel comfortable in her classroom.
She would always let us discuss the question to its fullest extent, and encouraged disagreement to help us to see all sides of a story. Sometimes she would challenge our positions to make us think more about why we would want to choose something, and it was very helpful for me to make sure I was considering whether or not my opinions made sense or were consistent.
Myung Jung was always on time and ready to teach. She was good at answering students' questions and gave plenty of time for discussion. I thought her overall attitude was positive and cheerful.
The things we discussed in discussion really helped further understand the material we were learning in the class. Often time we did activities or group work that helped with ideas in the class that were hard to comprehend.
She always came to class prepared and was very knowledgable about the topics. She was great at leading discussion and drawing our attention to the important points of what we were learning. She asked relevant and thought-provoking questions about the topic to help us think more about what we were learning. Also was always really helpful in answering questions.
The instructor was well prepared for discussion sections and was very thorough in explaining the core class concepts that we learned in lecture. She made it much easier to understand the concepts gone over in the dense readings.
Professor Myung Jung Kim is very good at challenging the class to expand on their ideas when discussing in class. Additionally, she encourages us to understand our values and be able to communicate them. Overall, Professor Kim creates a positive environment in our classroom which makes discussion worth going to.
I think that my TA myung jung did a fantastic job with our discussions and made everyone feel comfortable and challenged our beliefs.
Strengths: Easy to reach out for help including office hours, course content aligned with the lecture material pretty well
The instructor was really good at teaching things to students that had never been exposed to political theory before. The instructor made sure that we were exposed to different types of learning and was really good at ensuring that we were all engaged and interacting with our fellow classmates, a true skill that I think can be hard to find in TAs. She is one of the best TAs I have ever had and I hope to have her again because she was really good at executing the lesson plans and making sure we understood the concepts.
Well articulated, and kept the class engaged the entire time.
I really liked the emphasis on self-discovery via tackling complex issues through a logical process, breaking down what the philosophical implications and how the flow of logic might affect the way we think about systems within society.
Myung Jung Kim did a very good job at reinforcing the ideas that Ben was trying to teach in the lecture.
The discussions were guided by Myung Jung but she really let us talk and grow our ideas together which was helpful for understanding the complex concepts. Both Ben and Myung Jung made it easy to be open to learning and understanding the theories.
Lighthearted and made discussion seem pretty fun. Engaging and kind, also responds to emails quickly.
always prepared for class asked engaging questions kept us on topic made an effort to try to create an enjoyable environment for us
Myung Jung was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She has a very warm and welcoming air to her. She was very encouraging and motivated us to do our best. She listened to our input and applied it. She cleared up confusion when someone posed a question. She was also very receptive and related to students' concerns. She admitted when things were difficult but still dug deep to explain the content to us, and that is a very admirable quality. You can tell she cares a lot about her students. She also told anecdotes about her experiences with undergrad and grad schools, and those were very helpful as many of us want to pursue higher ed.
Amazing TA. Really sweet, nice, and attentive. Made the class activities fun and some days I would wish the class had gone on a little longer. She's really good at pacing the activities and making sure everyone is engaged.
